About

Nicole (she/her) founded Home Gnome Inspections after more than 13 years in the architecture field doing project management and construction administration. She earned her Master’s degree in Architecture and her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from Montana State University-Bozeman. (Ask her for design ideas!) She prides herself on being knowledgeable, detail-oriented and great with clients. In addition to her uncanny enthusiasm for crawlspaces, Nicole promises same-night inspection report delivery* and exceptional customer service.

Nicole grew up in South Dakota and Montana. She has traveled to England, France, Spain, Italy, Norway, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Ireland, Croatia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina. She lived briefly in Guatemala where she taught English to 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade girls while improving her Spanish. She is interested in a volunteer program to build or re-build homes in South America or Africa.

Nicole has volunteered at NAYA, Habitat for Humanity and the Architectural Heritage Center and frequently donates to Equitable Giving Circle. In her free time, Nicole likes to meet friends for happy hour (suggest your favorite happy hour here!), travel to warm & sunny places, paint and read books. She is a rabid Timbers fan and also a supporter of the Portland Thorns, T2, and the University of Portland women’s and men’s soccer. Nicole recently read Please Don’t Sit On My Bed In Your Outside Clothes by Phoebe Robinson and is currently reading City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Nicole is an Oregon Certified Home Inspector, license #1518 and Oregon Construction Contractor’s Board license #197499. Nicole is also a LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Accredited Professional and is trained in radon measurement by Jim Burkhart (now retired) from University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
